Legacy is looking for submissions to improve & build all aspects of the website reviews are currently what we're most looking for but below is a full list of all the contributions we desire Written Reviews (Any game present day or very retro with or without accompanying images) Gaming Guides (from start to finish) Screen captures Cheat codes / Passwords Blog Posts one off (opinion pieces about anything to do with gaming) Blog Post Multi post (We will consider a multi blog post if all posts are submitted at the same time we don't want to post say 3 blogs in a series of 5 or more that never sees an ending) Starting from August the 1st 2020 every published submission earns 1 prize draw entry with each individual being able to earn a maximum of 3 entries a month. There will be a maximum 1,000 draw entries a month (in the order contributions are published) if it becomes clear that target will be reached or close to being reached on a regular basis we'll consider either rasing that number or lowering the entry cap limit. On the 1st day of each subsequent month a prize draw will take place using Random.org which will not only ensure the complete random draw integrity but will also include a verified link so that everyone can check the draw for themselves win or lose to ensure it took time on the date provided and see the full list of everyone included in the draw and the winner(s) We'll include 1 $10 gift card prize (see options below) for every 100 entries so if we hit the maximum 1,000 entries we'll be giving away 10 $10 gift card prizes. It will be possible for an individual to potentially win more than 1 prize. Available Gift Card choices Amazon, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox All gift cards will come in the form of codes to be redeemed on the online store you choose. Every code is checked before being sent out they are all validated and will not be substituted or replaced If you aren't based in the USA then the gift card will be of roughly the same value in your own currency £10 in the UK for instance or 10 euros in european countries that use the euro. We've rounded up what we believe will be a few of the most popular FAQ'S but if yours isn't here drop a comment below or use contact link at the bottom of the page and well answer ASAP and update this section as required. How do I know the prize draw isn't rigged? That's why we're using Random.Org it's a service we'll actually be paying to use hopefully to avoid any such suspicions arising. Why are you giving stuff away is it a desperate attempt for attention across the crowded internet? Honestly we just thought it was a cool way to give back to the community of course if it helps the site grow then that's great but that's not our main motivation for doing so. I submitted content and it isn't on the website yet it's been a whole 48 hours already why aren't you publishing my stuff? There could be a number of reasons, the most likely is that we've received a lot of submissions over the last few days and it takes time to review everything, we will check through submissions in the order they're received, you will be notified by email when your content has been posted or rejected. Why would you reject my submission? There are a number of reasons submissions could potentially be rejected plagiarism, & quality are the most likely. But please also note we have a cap of 5 contributor reviews, 50 contributor images, 5 contributor videos per game if that cap is reached we're unlikely to remove older content for yours regardless how amazing yours maybe. You don't post review scores can I include them with my review anyway? If you feel you absolutely must leave a number at the end of your review then you are absolutely free to do so we will however NOT publish your score. You are free to end the review with a paragraph on how much you recommended or don't recommend a particular game that will be included. I played a game made for adults and rated for adult players it contains language some might find offensive throughout so why can't I use such language in my review? I get it I do and to me personally such language is just part of the modern day way people speak regardless if people like it or not. However while we do cover games across all platforms and age ranges we have industry partners and visitors who aren't fans and I can't think of a compelling enough reason why somebody couldn't write a review without using a few select words to get their view and point across. Does the no language thing go for YouTube Videos too? Yes it does while it's not the biggest reason it is one of the reasons I don't do commentary on my own videos Dead By Daylight would be an absolute swear fest at times! You posted 10 of my contributions in a month will the rest of my credits be rolled over to the next month? No we only add prize draw entries up to the maximum cap each month if you have already reached the cap and are only contributing purely for the prize draw we suggest waiting until the next month to contribute more content. If I submit 3 images for the same game on one day or 3 images for the same game on 3 different days I still get 3 credits right? No media submissions are counted as 1 submission per game regardless of quantity we also won't accept less than 5 images per contribution moving forward as we don't want someone just sending 1 image of 3 games purely to enter the prize draw. But I can just go and grab some images off the internet that you don't have and send them to you right? Again sorry but no. The images / videos must be your own captures (something that's very easy to do on modern consoles) any image we know came from the internet or that we believe too closely resembles other images online will be rejected. Are Legacy Staff entered into the prize draw? No. Anybody who has any kind of working relationship with Legacy will be entered into the draw. I don't want a gift card can I just have a game of equal or lesser value instead? Sorry but no, we gave this a lot of thought and this really is the easiest way for us to do things in particular if we end up giving away multiple prizes in a month. We will hold occasional giveaways / competitions in future with set prizes including games. I want to contribute to Legacy because I believe in the cause and like the website not because I want to be entered into a prize draw can I contribute without being entered into the prize draw? Yes you can when contributing to Legacy you will have the opportunity to indicate if you want to be entered into the prize draw or not. You only had 1 person submit anything last month does anybody even read this site? We'll I guess that person won the prize draw then good for them! As for the site Legacy as this is written (July 12th 2020) is in its infancy years (It's actually been around a few years but personal issues severely limited its progression up until recently) We aren't the biggest gaming website in the world and odds are we never will be but as hard as it might be to believe being the biggest or most popular isn't our motivation, our love and desire to cover as much of the gaming industry as possible is. Reviews and other contributions help to fulfil that goal and offer different approaches and views, this is an integral part of documenting the industry. But to better answer your question does anybody read this site? Yes they do, your reading it right now, not everyone has the time or desire to sit down and write a review or a guide or take screenshots and that's fine too, the website has seen growth week on week and year on year, I expect that growth to continue in particular as now we're in a position to be dedicated to daily content updates and have a whole host of ideas and features in addition to the eventual staggered relaunch of the Legacy Store. If we get 1 contribution a month then it's one more than we had before and if we get 1,000 then great I look forward to all the extra work.
