Legacy Editorials will be once a month things and mostly used as a way to pass my own views on certain events, games or news around the time of publication.
Legacy To Do List
All the things I still want to bring to Legacy in both the short and longer term.
The main reason for this section is to keep myself motivated to keep on pushing forward and of course to hopefully let you know what's still to come.
Well firstly I wish everyone visiting a happy new year and hopefully a fun game filled 2020.
2019 wasn't a great year for the Legacy project or me on a personal level.
I had a house move that had multiple moving in dates spread over almost 5 months (we did get there eventually)
A number of health issues both personally and within my immediate family, I've had Hospital surgery right before Xmas and lost some one very important to me to cancer just 10 days before Christmas itself.
It's fair to say 2019 is a year i'll look back on with very few positive memories.
Even from a gaming point of view many very good games have come and gone with very little impact or attention given to them.
My Nintendo Switch probably was less than 200 hours of use in total in 2019 despite me buying more than 50 new switch games at retail.
My Xbox One saw even less PC gaming never got a look in on my old creaking laptop (that lost it's screen and had to be hooked up to a monitor)
Only the PS4 managed any semblance of gaming normality for me during 2019 and that was spread quite thinly across only a handful of games with only 1,142 trophies (38 of which were platinum) the whole year.
But this is a new year and even a new decade.
if ever there was a time to start again then now is probably as good as any other.
There will be the odd day when this website does have to take a back seat to real life but those days should now thankfully be come much rarer events than in the past.
I have a new custom built gaming PC (that will probably still not see much actual gaming) my kids disabilities and issues are being dealt with in school in a more positive way.
And the majority of my health issues are now thankfully behind me.
Legacy will be back to a regular schedule from January 6th 2020
The main goals for Legacy this month is trying to get some content onto the website.
I'm hoping to be sharing between 2 and 5 new press releases everyday and publishing a few more of the toys to life check lists.
There may also be a few more addition to the reviews, media and achievement lists but they aren't a priority for January 2020
I'm also hoping to start with our regular Legacy Live streams from mid January.
This will be live streamed via our Twitch channel and for at least the first few months will probably only consist of 1 stream a week.
(I will try and offer up 4 different games every month so we can get some variety in the streams.
There won't be any live commentary during these streams and I'm under no illusion or expectations of becoming the next twitch mega star.
I share videos and streams for the love of gaming and the industry not for popularity of financial gain.
I'll be spending the next few days installing and updating a number of apps onto the new PC as well as transferring my own Legacy database (currently sits at almost 1 tb of data covering more than 100,000 games and companies.
I'm hopefully all of that data and much more will be on the Legacy website within a few years.
Thanks for checking us out I hope you'll come back on a regular basis all visitors are very much appreciated.
As I've already covered elsewhere in this editorial December wasn't a great month for me.
so I didn't actually spend all that much time playing a whole lot.
the only game that got any significant game time was Dead By Daylight as for whatever reason I decided now would be a good time to start making progress in the archives and trying to accomplish all the challenges within the rift.
I'm actually onto the 4th stage and only have a handful of challenges left and I'm pleased to admit that while I originally wasn't all that interested in yet another progression based challenge in a game It had provided me with the motivation and challenge I have thoroughly enjoyed.
With the exception of blinding a killer carrying another survivor that took me 73 games to complete (no that's not an exaggeration!)
Digital Store Update
Retro Press Release
If you want to see every Legacy tag in the news section you can find them a little further down.
(There will eventually be thousands)
News Not Click Bait
Official Press Releases
Straight from the sources themselves.
We publish full press releases without editing or spinning the facts to suit our own agenda.
Digital Store updates
We'll try post as many updates as possible on what's releasing & what's on sale.
Video streams of various events from multiple companies across the world.
Most notably of course E3 but a fair few others too.
Outside of reviews I don't spend a lot of time voicing my own opinion on things and this will be one of the few places I'll be using total editorial freedom to do so.
Occasionally we'll post news on games that have kick starter campaigns under way.
We can't cover every single one but we'll try to Take a look at ones we're made aware of that have at least 14 days to go.
Retro Press Releases
A look back to how news was spread in the old days with press releases from the same day at least 10 years in the past.
We don't make posts just to push affiliate links but sometimes they are included.
Using these links helps the site and 100% of revenue from them is put back into Legacy.
They are all clearly marked and every post that includes them is tagged as such.
If you want to support is then great but if you'd rather not we're fine with that too.
If you want to see every tag or archive in the database you can do so here.
The list will be very long though
