New design, with a slightly new & focus
There are many sites & blogs out there simply dedicated to reviews and just as many if not more for video game related news.
There's websites that offer reasonably comprehensive check list systems that for most gamers will be more than enough.
And of course there are some well known examples of websites that simply link you reviews for your chosen games or give you an aggregate score.
So why am I bothering with Legacy and why should you?
Video games aren't just a job or a passion for me personally they are a way of life and a genuine life saver.
In the early 2001 I was sat home alone with a Nintendo GameCube Wave bird controller in my hands, Mario Sunshine on the tv and a very sharp blade just begging to be used laid next to me on the bed.
I don't remember the name of the level in question (it was one of those levels within a level) and I had decided having failed at it the night before I'd go beat the thing before I took my own life.
I didn't beat it of course Mario died again and again and again until he ran out of lives.
The day after I decided if I didn't beat the level in question I'd kill myself after all I kept killing Mario I might as well finish myself.
Of course then I beat it at the very first attempt before going on to enjoy video games all day.
I'm brutally honest about my life and the struggles I had during it and I make no apologies for that.
But despite all of the lows video games have given me so many highs and an escapism that no other industry ever could have.
My passion for Video games is never ending and while there are a multitude of websites, blogs and video channels out there offering a wealth of news, reviews and opinions on all aspects of the gaming spectrum I hope over the coming years Legacy will be a place you'll stop by to check out a true passion project.
Legacy's purpose is to preserve and promote the whole of the video games industry
From the very beginning to the present, future and beyond.
The big popular companies to the tiny one person start ups.
The most well known games to the most obscure.
Famous creators to the completely unknowns.
The greatest games ever made and the worst.
We can't realistically catalogue every single person that's contributed to the industry and it's highly likely we'll never document every single game.
But we'll most certainly never stop trying.
My Legacy their games.
A place to write about the random thoughts & ideas.
Notes and comments about games I'm currently playing or about to review.
Idea's and notes about upcoming features.
Introductions to members of the team
And just a general place for the odd little rant here and there.
