8 mario kart console games,
85,432 time trial attempts
More than 250,000 Laps (no sorry I tried to add it up but lost count We'll have a definite number at the end)
A few absolutely terrible time trial times!
Well the headline tab sums up a lot of this featured challenge pretty well but here's a slightly longer run down of this epic challenge
I'll be taking on all 236 tracks from the 8 Mario Kart console games (this includes all the retro tracks on the versions that include them)
All of the 181 characters to appear across all of the 8 games will be included in the trial this includes colour variations (Yoshi for example in Mario Kart 8) and every Mii Outfit (again Mario Kart 8)
2 Attempts Each
Every driver will get 2 time trial attempts good bad or indifferent every driver error (yes okay my error) will be recorded and counted.
To keep things simple I'll be doing the tracks in the order they appear in game .
For the first track on each game the driver order will be determined by the order they are placed on the character select screen.
For each subsequent track the fastest driver on the previous track will go first and continue down the list until the slowest driver on the previous track goes last
Kart Set Up
On the games where kart set up is possible the time trials will be set up the same as the Nintendo Staff Ghost.
When will this time trial end?
This time trial is scheduled to end around April 2025 (Yes it's almost a 5 year project)
Is Legacy going to cancel this thing half way through 5 year is a long time!
No I've already recorded and have securely stored over 100 of the time trials this project will be seen through to completion regardless of if it gets 1 view in total or 1 million.
Hall Of Fame
Every track will come with it's own Hall Of Fame section if you be our time on any track and send us a link to the video evidence we'll feature you in the tracks hall of fame.
Beat every track from a particular game with the same character we used to set the fastest time and we'll have a special prize to give out!
We'll post links to each of the tracks time trials here once they go live.

Diddy Kong Racing focuses on high-speed, entertaining racing action as well as a large dose of adventure and exploration. Diddy Kong and seven other characters - including Banjo the bear in his debut N64 outing - race through 20 beautiful 3-D courses on one of three vehicles: a cart, hovercraft or plane. But pushing your foot (or paw) to the floor is only half the story - you'll also need to explore the nooks and crannies of each track to find shortcuts and hidden items. These in turn open up new courses, time challenges and races against turbo-charged bosses - if you can find them in the game's sprawling island hub.
Diddy Kong Racing also features Rare's proprietary Real-Time Dynamic Animation Technology (RDA). This programming technology allows the game to include a wealth of large, colourful and highly textured characters in a massive environment, so even with multiple kart-riding animals on-screen the action is suitably fast-paced. Real-Time Dynamic Animation Technology squeezes the most out of the Nintendo 64's hardware, allowing for sparkly reflections and mirroring effects whenever appropriate. Diddy Kong Racing also features a Versus Mode that allows two to four players to compete using any combination of vehicles - and a variety of multiplayer scenarios makes for unrivalled depth of play.
