A look ahead to my 2021 gaming wish list where as is so often the case with wish lists almost none will actually happen!Multi / Any Platform
Dead By Daylight
My most played game of 2020 just as it was my most played game of 2019 and will almost certainly be my most played game of 2021 2020 saw multiple graphical upgraded to a good number of features and game maps with more to come in 2021. It's also one of the most frequently updated games I've ever personally played with new killers and survivors entering the game every few months. And it's one of these updates that is on my wish list for 2021 I'm not alone in this desire and there maybe impossible licencing issues and game working challenges but if I could have 1 killer added to the game it would be Chucky from Childs Play! I think the recent twins release as to an extent shown how a little killer could run around the map and hunt down the desperate survivors. Of course there would be some potential issues with hooking ect but I'm sure that could be worked out. If I could hand pick a survivor (obviously it would be Andy if it was Chucky) I'd take Emma Roberts wonderful Chanel Oberlin from the tv series Scream Queens. Again that would bring it's own licencing issues but as much as I love Meg and she'll always be main Emma Roberts would be a very close runner up! Regardless which killers / survivors do arrive in the game in 2021 I look forward to much more fun & the occasional frustration in the fog. Odds Of Happening - My desires are high but my hopes are very low A Super Bomberman Collection
Konami have released a couple of collection games in 2020 and so there is perhaps some slim hope that it might stick together an old Bomberman collection. I'd happily take 1 -3 but would quite like the 4th entry to be included too. I stuck an Evercade logo up above here because I think that might be the best possible chance for such a collection but to be perfectly clear I'd happily take such a collection on any platform One of my favourite series of the 16 bit era and the hours and hours of multiplayer action we enjoyed I'd love to play through all of these games again on modern systems (though I do still play through them on a yearly basis on original hardware anyway) Odds Of Happening - It's Konami just about anything could come out of nowhere A Breath Of Fire Collection
If I could only play one turn based RPG series I'd take Breath Of Fire over anything else. I played most 16 bit RPG's that made it to England in the 90's and have spent the past 20 years catching up on anything I missed and playing many more newer games inspired by the era. Breath Of Fire 2 is my second favourite Snes game of all time only placed behind A link to the past. It's not the best RPG series in the world by any means but it was the one that connected me with the most. I really liked the first game, I adored the second game and completely loved the 3rd game on the original PlayStation. Wasn't a fan of the 4th game to put it mildly and as a result I never actually played the 5th game on PS2 (I do own it) and I never touched the 6th mobile phone version. Capcom aren't particularly interested in creating these kind of games anymore but with remakes of various 90's classics coming 2021 and the number of 90's remakes coming from Japan in general in the past few years perhaps one day I'll get a full collection but I highly doubt that 2021 will be that year. Odds Of Happening - Probably less than zero PlayStation My Own PS5 Console
Let's be honest the PlayStation 5 pre order launch was a rushed mess. Some of that blame has to be given to Sony but many of stores at the very least in the UK all went for the free for all approach and completely ignored their own set times for pre orders to go live meaning many in the UK either had to refresh for hours on end or purely hope for the best. Needless to say within mere hours there were hundreds of PS5 consoles for sale on eBay, Amazon and others for double and triple the retail price. I tried and failed to get one during the initial pre orders (I didn't refresh for hours) and I didn't even bother trying to get one at various other points when they went on sale in the run up to Christmas. I expect I'll pick one up during the first quarter of 2021 but honestly as of today I honestly don't care at what point in 2021 that actually happens. Odds Of Happening - 100% will happen at some point in 2021 Xbox A new Conker or Banjo for Xbox Series X
Let's be honest the Rare of 2021 is not the Rare of the 90's but that doesn't automatically mean Microsoft doesn't have the resources or the talent to create another good Banjo or Conker game be it under the Rare banner or with someone else. Perfect Dark is coming and as my 4th personal Rare series I'm very much looking forward to seeing how that turns out. But let's be honest Microsoft isn't short on shooters already, while they'll be people out there that perhaps feel that 3d platformers aren't something the Xbox players want and I haven't seen sales numbers so maybe they're right but from my perspective the more choice of genres given to players the better. Odds Of Happening - I'd say there's at the very least a 50 / 50 chance something will be shown off at e3 or equivalent event in 2021 Nintendo Splatoon 3
I got the first Splatoon on launch day on the Wii U played the story mode for an hour or two put it in the box and never played the game again. When Splatoon 2 came out I got the game at launch put it on the shelf with many other games and left it there during the summer this year I finally put the game in my Switch console after much prompting from my kids went through the tutorial absolutely hated the motion controls thankfully turned them off decided rather than play the story mode I'd give multi player a try as the kids might find it more fun. Since then it's my most played Switch game this year with many many hours put into it. Still haven't touched the story mode so it's not like I'm in need of a new Splatoon game but I wouldn't be surprised to see it at least shown off this year for release in the next 18 months. Odds Of Happening - I'm actually up at around 75% of this game being revealed in 2021 Nes & Snes Remix
Nintendo Online is in my opinion a reasonable service at a reasonable price but they really need to step up their offerings rather than just drip feeding so very little so very often. the rerelease of the Nes & even a creation of a Snes remix would be a nice bonus for Switch online members and provide a fun online competitive leader boards. Tetris 99 & Mario 35 have proved a bit of fun online competition is welcome and while the NES versions were released on Wii U & 3DS I still think they'd be very popular on the Switch in addition to all the new content that could come from a Snes Version. Odds Of Happening - As the saying often goes Nintendo will do whatever Nintendo want to do so this could be just as likely to happen as it could to never happen at all so I'll go 50 /50 Zelda four swords Remaster or remake Zelda as a series is 35 years old this year and Nintendo will inevitably bring back some past games to celebrate that fact alongside perhaps releasing breath of the wild 2 (I think that will be a March 2022 game but we'll see) Of the old games my personal choice would be four Swords either as a rerelease or even a new version or sequel. The Switch is just about the perfect console for such a game with multiplayer and often multiple consoles in one house being a thing of all the past Zelda games this one would bring me the most joy. "No kids there is nothing in this house you go ahead" while I loot every last rupee is something that will happen in my house in 2020 even if I have to get out the GameCube and all the link cables. And before you feel sorry for my poor children I can assure you they'll quickly latch onto the idea and teal everything from under my nose like they do with treasure and other such things in any game we play, They'll eat my turkey in streets of rage when they already have full health given half a chance they could do with losing a few rupees. It could be released in a similar way to clubhouse games where you only need one copy and up to 3 others can download a multiplayer only version to join you but honestly I'd buy the game 4 times at the right price because I know we'd get a lot out of it. Just please Nintendo no more limited time releases Odds Of Happening - I expect they'll be 2 or three Zelda games this year in addition to breath of the wild 2 if it makes it. This kind of game would not only perfectly fit the switch multiplayer aspects but be a great accompaniment to another Zelda remake. But again as with Nes Remix Nintendo will be Nintendo it's 100% there will be one or more Zelda games released in 2021 but virtually anyone's guess what they'll be.

Wonderbelly and The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild are releasing The Gift Giver Update for award-winning game 'Roundguard' just in time for the holidays!SEATTLE, WA - December 17, 2020 - Wonderbelly Games and The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild are bringing another free update to the award-winning roguelike puzzler Roundguard. The update arrives just in time for the holidays, bringing a snowy new event, treasures, and three new characters.
With the Gift Giver update, three new characters have been added to the dungeon. "We've started on a new playable hero, but it will take a lot more work to get them finished, tuned, and polished up," said Andrea Roberts of Wonderbelly Games. "In the meantime, we wanted to get something out there to give players new goals and more variety. And of course, we love events! We had a blast putting together a week of costumes and spooky challenges for our Tricks & Treats Halloween event, and we wanted to go even bigger for wintertime. We all need whatever little joys we can get right now!" The Gift Giver update marks the third free content update that Wonderbelly Games has released this year. Roundguard has been nominated for several prestigious awards, including Games Radar's "Mobile Game of the Year" and DevGAMM's "Excellence in Game Design." Earlier this year I decided to part company with my near 40 year gaming collection so while this time last year I'd have been straight in for a physical NES game but now I'm happy o leave it for those that ill collect the games rather than simply back it now to sell for a bigger price a few years down the line. I will be getting it's prequel game Flea on the Evercade system and if this game makes it to that system or the Switch stretch goal I'd support the dev there too. Risks and challenges Direct from the developer Lowtek Games has delivered on previous kickster game Flea so the development and manufacture should have most f the kinks ironed out this time round. We are living in Covid times though so things could get delayed in whats we could not see.

The new trailer also reveals an early look at the mysterious “Rampage” events that threaten Kamura Village, the game’s primary location. Also announced during the event, a free Monster Hunter Rise demo will be released for the Nintendo Switch™ system in January 2021, prior to the worldwide launch of the full game on March 26, 2021.
Revealed today, two entirely new monsters will be making their Monster Hunter debuts in Monster Hunter Rise. The trickster Bishaten arrives as a unique new threat with its distinctive tail and fondness for persimmons, which it stores in his stomach and hurls at its prey. Adding to its offensive arsenal, Bishaten is also equipped with multiple tail attack options and powerful spin moves that will require hunters to stay on their toes or risk getting swept off their feet. Also new to the line-up, Somnacanth is an intoxicating aquatic leviathan that can expel sleep powder to temporarily stun opponents, leaving them open for attacks. The latest trailer also includes sightings of the scaly leviathan Royal Ludroth and the poisonous birdlike Great Wroggi, both of which are returning to join the growing roster of foes in Monster Hunter Rise. In addition to the previously announced Shrine Ruins hunting grounds, the new Flooded Forest area will provide players the opportunity to explore and battle fierce monsters in this overgrown and water-logged setting. The puzzling “Rampage” events that threaten Kamura Village and its denizens were also featured in the trailer, as it appears residents and Monster Hunter Rise players will need to build up their defenses and prepare for the battle of their lifetimes. More information regarding the “Rampage” will be revealed in the months ahead. A demo for Monster Hunter Rise on Nintendo Switch was announced today and will release worldwide in January 2021. The free demo will provide hunters their first opportunity to try out the inventive set of new tools in the game, including the debut of the Wirebug mechanic and Palamute companion, which can both be used to track down and defeat threatening monsters in new ways. More specifics on this demo, including release timing, will be announced soon. About Monster Hunter Rise Monster Hunter Rise is an action RPG that will transport players to the colorful Kamura Village, which attracts visitors with its unique culture and innovative hunting technologies. After hunters equip their armor and select from one of the various weapon types, all-new hunting grounds await, including the ancient Shrine Ruins and more. The debut of the new “Wirebug” mechanic allows for wire-based grappling actions that can be used to scale cliffs and other hard-to-reach areas, providing new traversal and aerial attack options. Monster Hunter Rise will also debut new hunting partners called Palamutes, personalized and rideable “Canyne” companions that will provide players with a new set of attack options, while “Felyne” Palicoes will return as support characters for actions like healing. As players defeat monsters and progress through the game, items from fallen foes can be used to craft unique weapons and armor that will increase their chances of future success and survival. Hunters can tackle these challenges solo, or with up to three other players in local or cooperative online play, while also taking advantage of the versatility of the Nintendo Switch system, which allows for hunting anywhere, anytime and with anyone! In addition to the Standard Edition (physical and digital) of Monster Hunter Rise, a special digital Deluxe Edition will include the Standard Edition of the game, as well as a digital DLC pack voucher that can be redeemed for bonus in-game content such as a “Kamurai” full layered armor set, exclusive gestures, cosmetic items and more. About Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection:
The legendary platforming series rises again, as Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection marks the heroic return of the series, which debuted over 35 years ago. Paying homage to Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, the latest entry combines the franchise’s action platforming gameplay with storybook-like graphics and challenging new obstacles. The new entry will once again follow the valiant knight Arthur as he runs, jumps and battles his way through eerie stages set in the Demon Realm, a demonic fantasy world. Arthur must overcome countless ghoulish foes on his quest to rescue the princess from the treacherous grasp of the Demon Lord. Brave knights will need to proceed with extreme caution as terrifying dangers await, including familiar enemies like Zombie, Skeleton Murderer, Pigman and Red Arremer. Whether a longtime Ghosts ‘n Goblins fan or a newcomer, Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection players can decide how perilous Arthur’s journey will be by selecting one of three different difficulties: Squire, Knight and Legend. New to Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is the Page mode, which allows untested apprentices to respawn on the spot with unlimited lives. To progress through the Demon Realm, Arthur must utilize everything at his disposal, from tried-and-true weapons like the Lance and Dagger to all-new additions like the Hammer and Spiked Ball. Arthur’s updated arsenal also includes various types of skills and magic, allowing players to bring game-changing spells like Firewall and Thunderstorm into combat. Arthur will need to master each of the weapon types and magic abilities to overcome his battle against evil and restore peace to the land. About Capcom Arcade Stadium: Capcom Arcade Stadium will allow players to bring home the electrifying thrill of an arcade with 32 action-packed classics, which includes a free download of 1943 - The Battle of Midway - and the original Ghosts ‘n Goblins as a stand-alone add-on.
