New design, with a slightly new & focus
The main goal of Legacy for the very longest time was essentially to play as many games as possible then give them a fair review and promotion regardless how much we actually liked the game in question.
While that's always going to be one Legacy's core goals there are both medical and personal reasons why I
A. Can't possibly play as many games as I desire.
B. There are some days (and significant multiple hours in others) where I can't just sit down and work here as much as I'd like.
There are many sites & blogs out there simply dedicated to reviews and just as many if not more so for video game related news.
There some big sites out there that offer reasonably comprehensive check list systems & while I believe though believe will eventually be as comprehensive as our own for the average gamer they'll be more than enough.
And of course there are some well known examples of websites hat will link to a number of reviews for games or give you an aggregate score of said game.
So why are we bothering with Legacy and why should you?
Video games aren't just a job or a passion for me personally they are a way of life and a genuine life saver.
In the early 2001 I was sat home alone with a Nintendo GameCube Wave bird controller in my hands, Mario Sunshine on the tv and a very sharp blade just begging to be used laid next to me on the bed.
I don't remember the name of the level in question (it was one of those levels within a level) and I had decided having failed at it the night before I'd go beat the thing before I took my own life.
I didn't beat it of course Mario died again and again and again until he ran out of lives.
The day after I decided if I didn't beat the level in question I'd kill myself after all I kept killing Mario I might as well finish myself.
Of course then I beat it at the very first attempt before going on to enjoy video games all day.
I'm brutally honest about my life and the struggles I had during it and I make no apologies for that.
But despite all of the lows Video games have given me so many highs and an escapism that no other industry could ever have done.
My passion for Video games is never ending and while there are a multitude of websites, blogs and video channels out there offering a wealth of news, reviews and opinions on all aspects of the gaming spectrum I hope over the coming years Legacy will be a place you'll stop by to check out a true passion project.
Legacy's purpose is to preserve and promote the whole of the video games industry
From the very beginning to the present, future and beyond.
The big popular companies to the tiny one person start ups.
The most well known games to the obscure.
The well known game creators to the completely unknown
The best games ever made and even the worst.
We can't realistically catalogue every single person that's contributed to the industry or game creation and it's highly likely we'll never document every single game.
But we'll most certainly never stop trying.
My Legacy their games.
A place to write about the random thoughts & ideas.
Notes and comments about games I'm currently playing or about to review.
Idea's and notes about upcoming features.
Introductions to members of the team
And just a general place for the odd little rant here and there.
