Q1. You spent 11 years working for Ubisoft before moving on to create CoderChild, I know from personal experiencing the challenges leaving the safety of employment to go it alone can bring, but how big a decision was it for you and now 4 years later are you convinced it was the right decision?
David (Coder Child) - Whoa! that's a really good question!
As you said, that was really a big decision.
At that moment I had one kid and wife, but I thought that was the right moment and I did it.
4 years later, I still miss some things like working on a team, but on the other hand CoderChild has brought me the opportunity to learn and do many things I coudn't do there.
I think it was the right decision.
Q2. were your most memorable or favourite titles you worked on while with Ubisoft?
I can tell you when I worked on one of the first titles for the 360, Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter, or when we did the Wii version of Driver Parallel lines, but truth to be told, I enjoyed more working on other small projects like Cosmic Family for the Wii, Pro Rally 2002 for the PS2 and Monster 4x4: Masters of Metal for the PS2 also.
We had a great time developing these, the more at the end of the project, when all the team were playing, trying to beat each other and trying to find bugs of course!
Cosmic Family & Driver Parallel Lines are both Titles David worked on while at Ubisoft.
Q3. With so many developers making games these days it can be rather easy to get lost in a crowd for every indie dev starting up right now it seems as if at least one is closing down.
